Jøshjøsh is an Australian indie rock band from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, making songs with the weight of real life in them, shaped by the space, culture and perspective of living beside the ocean.

Singer-songwriter Josh Paul sits at the centre of the project. His songs are drawn from lived experience and the process of rebuilding a life through grief, change, relationships, uncertainty, family and the search for meaning. Those ideas first took shape through the Ikigai EP, a record grounded in purpose, identity and finding a way forward.

Over time, the project has grown beyond its original form. Through years of playing live and the addition of new members, Jøshjøsh has evolved into a full band, opening a new era where each musician brings their own character, energy and instinct to the sound.

The result moves between reflective songwriting, driving guitars and energetic indie rock, carrying life’s emotional weight while holding onto the importance of being present for moments of joy, connection and meaning as they unfold. The coast is not simply scenery around the music. Its culture, community and space have become part of the perspective from which the songs are written, bringing what The Underground Stage described as “the thinnest film of sea foam to truck-sized stomp and twang,” with a sound that is “meaty and thrumming” yet carries “a pinch of salt air.”

Jøshjøsh has shared stages with The Terrys, Playlunch, Lazy Haze, Ash Grunwald and Little Quirks, alongside sold-out Northern Beaches headline shows and performances across Sydney and regional NSW.

Following Ikigai, the band now moves into its next chapter with the forthcoming Golden Days EP.
